Three hours of trekking through the heart of Portofino Park, from picturesque Camogli to the iconic village, crossing the Bocche - the highest point of the promontory. Medium-high difficulty, 400m elevation, 360-degree panoramas.

The route

Camogli-Bocche-Portofino: the crossing.

Camogli (0h). Start from port, cross village towards stairs climbing to cemetery. Demanding climb in first 40 minutes.

Pietre Strette (1h). Intermediate point climbing to Bocche. View on Golfo Paradiso. Snack break recommended.

The Bocche (1h30). Highest trail point, 600m. Long stop recommended: spectacular panorama, photos, energy recharge.

Descent to Portofino (2h-3h). Long but gradual descent through forest and olive groves. Continuous panoramic points.

Logistics

How to organize the crossing.

Outward from Rapallo. Train Rapallo-Camogli (10 min, EUR 2.50). Trail start from port.

Return from Portofino. Portofino-Santa Margherita ferry (15 min, EUR 8), then SML-Rapallo train (5 min, EUR 2).

Day timing. Plan full day: 8:45 depart Rapallo, 9am trail start, 12pm arrive Portofino, lunch, 2pm return.
