Vacation in Rapallo from Turin: the smart Italian Riviera.
Many Turin residents head to the French Riviera because it's 3-4 hours away. Rapallo is the same distance, speaks Italian, costs less, and drops you in the Tigullio. It's the Italian Riviera without the French markup. Turin-Rapallo in 2h15 by train or 3h00 by car: a practical guide to organising a weekend or longer stay without stress.
By train
Turin-Rapallo: the smartest way
Turin Porta Nuova → Genoa Piazza Principe (1h40 Frecciabianca) → Rapallo (35 min regional)
Train is the best option if you don't need a car at destination. In Rapallo, you don't: central FS station, Tigullio trains every 20 minutes, ferries to Portofino from the harbour. Book in advance for the best fares.
By car
Turin-Rapallo: the motorway route
Turin → A6 to Savona (1h45) → A12 to Rapallo (1h15)
Once in Rapallo, park the car in the garage and use trains around the Tigullio: with limited parking and the historic-centre ZTL, the car becomes a burden. Why you don't need a car in Liguria.
